Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Talma app for iOS ("Talma", "the app", "we", "us").
Who we are
The data controller is Alina Dauhaliova, a sole proprietor registered in Portugal, European Union. You can reach us at hello@gettalma.app.
What we collect
- Account data. If you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique account identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address (Apple's private relay email is fully supported). Signing in is optional; you can use Talma without an account.
- Your drawings and progress. Lessons you complete, your drawings, and your learning progress are stored on your device. If you sign in, they are also synced to our backend so you can restore them on another device.
- Usage analytics. We collect pseudonymous usage events (for example, which lessons are started and completed) together with a random device identifier, device model, OS version, and app version. If you sign in, these events are associated with your account identifier so we can measure the product consistently across your devices. We do not collect your name, contacts, photos, or precise location.
- Purchase data. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive purchase state (for example, whether a subscription is active) but never your payment details.
- Push tokens. If you allow notifications, we store a push token to deliver them. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.
- Support requests. If you email us, we keep the correspondence (your email address and message) for as long as needed to answer you and handle any follow-up.
How we use it
- To provide the app: lessons, drawing tools, sync, and your gallery.
- To understand which lessons work well and improve the app.
- To manage your subscription and unlock premium content.
- To send optional reminders and updates, if you allow notifications.
Under the GDPR, our legal bases are: performance of a contract for providing the app, your account, sync, and subscriptions; legitimate interest for usage analytics and improving the app (you can object at any time — see "Your rights"); and consent for push notifications, which you can withdraw at any time in iOS Settings.
We do not sell your personal data and do not show third-party ads.
Service providers
We use a small number of processors to run Talma. Each processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement:
- Supabase — accounts, drawing sync, and lesson content.
- Amplitude — pseudonymous usage analytics.
- RevenueCat — subscription management.
- OneSignal — push notifications.
- Apple — sign-in and payment processing.
International transfers
Some of our service providers process data outside the European Economic Area, primarily in the United States. Where they do, transfers are protected by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where the provider is certified, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Data retention
Account data and synced drawings are kept while your account exists. You can delete your account directly in the app (Settings → Account), which permanently removes your account and synced data from our servers. Analytics events are pseudonymous — they never include your name — and are retained for up to 24 months. If you sign in, they carry your account identifier; deleting your account unlinks future events. Push tokens are kept until you disable notifications or delete the app.
Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In Portugal, this is the CNPD (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados). To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@gettalma.app.
Children
Talma is made for adults and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
If we update this policy, we will update this page and change the date above. For material changes, we will also notify you in the app.
